Why Is My Law Firm Not Showing on Google Maps?

If your firm isn't showing in the map pack, it's almost always one of a handful of fixable problems. Here are the usual culprits.

You may be ranking, just not where you are looking. A geo-grid reveals the truth.

Your profile isn't verified or is suspended

An unverified, or quietly suspended, Google Business Profile won't rank. Suspensions are common for law firms and are usually reinstatable once the underlying issue is corrected.

Wrong or missing primary category

If your primary category doesn't match what people search (e.g. "Law firm" instead of "Personal injury attorney"), Google may never surface you for the queries that matter.

You're ranking, just not where you're looking

Map rankings are location-specific. You might be in the top 3 from your office and invisible two miles away. A geo-grid reveals the real picture.

Thin prominence: few reviews, inconsistent citations

Too few reviews and mismatched business listings across the web hold firms out of the pack. Building consistent citations and review velocity is often what breaks the logjam.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Map results are personalized by the searcher's location. Ranking from one spot tells you little, a geo-grid checks dozens of points so you see where you actually rank.

In most cases, yes. The listing is reinstated once the cause of the suspension is fixed and an appeal is filed correctly.
